Signed Wind in the Willows duplicate sole for $48800

LONDON (AP) -- A sealed duplicate of the classical children"s book "The Wind In The Willows" has been sole at auction in London for 32,400 pounds ($48,794) — around 10 times the estimated value.

The book contains a loyalty from writer Kenneth Grahame to the daughter of English writer Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, who is pronounced to have desirous the impression of Ratty.

The marker inside reads: "To Foy Felicia Quiller Couch from her sexual crony Kenneth Grahame, Oct. 1908."

Grahame mostly stayed at Sir Arthur"s home, where he found the impulse for the children"s tale.

Auction residence Bonhams pronounced Tuesday the book captivated extreme bidding. Bonhams had approaching it to fetch in between 3,000 pounds to 5,000 pounds.
